In the Salon of the Rue des Moulins

By: Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec
Toulouse moved to Paris at seventeen, he eventually settled at the Moulin Rouge where he started working in posters. over his live time he did many work mostly of the ladies in the brothels. This piece is supposed to be 6 prostutes waiting for there clients. He used his imagination and studys he had done or makethis painting. The piece is oil on canvas it's 44 x 54 inches  so it is a relatively large painting.

I like the colors of the picture the dark purples and grays make the blues and whites of the dress pop. Ialso like the face that all of the women in the pictures look like real people they are not very idolized they look like they have wrinkles or are bigger women. it is very real looking and live like.
